In cases where hearing loss is due to damage to the auditory nerve or inner ear structures, cochlear implants may be recommended. Protecting hearing by avoiding loud environments and using hearing protection can help prevent further damage. Regular hearing evaluations and consultations with an audiologist or otolaryngologist are important for diagnosing the cause of hearing changes and determining the most appropriate treatment to maintain optimal auditory function and quality of life.
